Invisalign aligners

Invisalign aligners

We are proud to be the first in Lithuania who can offer you a revolutionary innovation in orthodontics –   INVISALIGN (www.invisalign.com). Many years braces were the only option for teeth straightening, but now there is an alternative – Invisalign system. Invisalign is small transparent custom made splint, which is almost invisible when worn.  Only you will know, that you are actually wearing it. Invisalign can give you the smile you always wanted, without wearing braces. You can smile freely during the treatment. Invisalign aligners are hardly noticeable and convenient to use. Invisalign is easy removed when eating or brushing your teeth. The effectiveness of Invisalign is clinically proven.

How does teeth straightening with INVISALIGN look?

During the primary consultation, orthodontist will evaluate if you are eligible for Invisalign treatment – if yes – orthodontist will make a treatment plan and take impressions, which will be sent to Invisalign laboratory. In the Invisalign laboratory, using 3D technologies, individual treatment program is created and multiple sets of aligners are made. Exact number of aligners differs, accordingly to the case. Each set is used for two weeks and then changed with subsequent set. Week by week, millimeter by millimeter teeth are straightened and aligned into the new ideal position. Dental appointments should be scheduled every 4-6 weeks (the same as wearing braces). Total treatment time may take up to 9-15 months.

Invisalign aligners are removable, but should be worn 20-22 hours a day to be effective. Treatment may impede speech during the adaptive period, but should not take longer than few days. Aligners cause stress to the teeth, therefore, squeezing sensation might occur during the first 2-3 days of treatment.

There are more bite defects that can be corrected using Invisalign, one should contact an Invisalign qualified orthodontist for further information.

Invisalign system is usually used when:

  • Treating overbite
  • Teeth are crowded
  • Closing teeth gaps
  • Provided teeth movements will not exceed 4-5 mm

Invisalign might not help (depends on the size of defect) when:

  • Provided teeth movements will exceed 4-5 mm
  • Treating crossbite
  • Treating open bite
  • Bite defect is skeletal
