What are the types of braces?

Braces are non-removable orthodontic appliances, fixated on the buccal or lingual teeth surfaces. There are many types of braces, which differ both in their design esthetics and strength.  Commonly used metal braces may be conventional (with archwire and elastics) or self-ligating (e.g. DAMON). Ceramic braces are increasingly more used nowadays – they fade in with the color of a tooth and are highly esthetic. Transparent sapphire braces are another choice. One of the newest orthodontic treatment methods in Lithuania is INVISALIGN – special transparent teeth straightening splints, practically not visible to the untrained eye.
