Oral surgery

Oral surgery

Tooth removal (extraction) is the most commonly performed surgical dental (oral surgery) procedure. Tooth removal is needed for a variety of reasons, but the emergence of dental implants has changed oral surgery a lot.

Our dentists consult and provide the following oral surgery procedures:

  • Tooth extraction for children and adults. Permanent tooth extraction can be simple (up to 1 minute), sometimes - complex (from 1 to 30 minutes). However, it is one of the shortest dental procedures, if carried out by an experienced medical professional. Sometimes a removal of wisdom teeth is needed. Impacted wisdom tooth removal requires a lot of specialized knowledge in oral surgery, and these procedures in our clinic are performed only by an experienced oral surgeon.
  • Botox injection treatment, which is also used in odontology. Using botulinum toxin in very small doses can solve gummy smile and bruxism problems. The injection is repeated every 3-12 months, depending on the individual situation.
  • Root resection and cystectomy – a procedure when oral surgeon removes the inflammatory focus situated at the apex of the tooth root. Often radicular cysts arise in the foci of inflammation. The said surgery is performed when conservative treatment (e.g. root fillings) is ineffective.
  • Abscess incision and drainage. Abscess is one of untreated teeth complications. One of the signs - swelling. Under local anesthesia oral surgeon makes an incision in the abscess zone and enters the drain. Antibiotics are prescribed. Next day the drain is removed. After two weeks the toot is treated or extracted.
  • Vestibuloplasty – a procedure when attached gingiva is formed. A vestibuloplasty may be needed when bone atrophy has begun. Attached gingiva creates good conditions for removable prosthesis’ retention and more favorable conditions for dental implant’s longevity.
  • Exostosis removal. Exostosis is a bony outgrowth which should be removed if removable prosthesis was planned.
